Auto video editing: a finished talking-head video without a timeline
Auto-editing means you don’t sit over a timeline: you upload a recording, pick a style and get a finished video a few minutes later. Here’s how it works in VARIA, which settings are worth touching and which you can leave as they are.
- Three presets: “Captions only”, “Captions & title”, “Full edit”
- Videos from 15 seconds to 3 minutes, files up to 700 MB via the app
- You can change the style while the video uploads
- The finished video arrives in the chat and is kept for 30 days
- Tweaks — via a free re-render or in the editor
What auto-editing looks like in VARIA
- Open the bot in Telegram and tap “Open VARIA”. No sign-up — you log in with your Telegram account.
- In the “Auto-edit” tab, tap “Choose video” and pick a recording from your gallery.
- While the video uploads and the speech is being recognized, choose a style. The preview instantly shows how the captions and title will look.
- Tap “Done — build video”. You can close the app: the video will arrive in your chat with the bot.
That’s it. No timeline, layers or keyframes unless you want them — that’s what the editor is for.
Three presets — where to start
If a preset doesn’t fit, everything can be set separately: caption style (there are seven), color and font, title style, graphics intensity, music, your own photos and videos.
What auto-editing does to your recording
Cleans up speech
It cuts pauses, “um”s, filler words, repeats and sentences you started over. Pauses are cut tight — the way dynamic videos are edited today — but without choppy cuts in the middle of a word: where you speak in one breath, the edit leaves it alone. More in our guide how to cut pauses and “um”s.
Adds captions
Captions appear word by word, in sync with your speech, avoid your face and don’t overlap the title or graphics. Names are written with a capital letter, and words like “Reels” are spelled the way people say them. More on styles in the article captions for Reels.
Adds design
Numbers you mention become a running counter, lists become checklists, a “before — after” comparison becomes a clear wipe. B-roll appears where you talk about something: your photos land on the matching words, and if you don’t have any — a matching image. Music is picked to fit the mood and ducked under your voice.
Evens out the sound
Volume is brought to one level, and noisy recordings (street, traffic) are cleaned up by a neural network.
Example: what happens to a minute of footage
A typical 43-second talking video becomes 33–35 seconds after auto-editing: about 14 cuts, gone are the pauses between sentences, three “Well,” at the start of sentences and a drawn-out goodbye at the end. On top — a title based on the first thought, word-by-word captions, a running number where a figure was said, and one B-roll shot where you talked about an object. All without a single move on the timeline.
If you don’t like something in the result, the fix is quick: open the video in “Videos”, tap “Edit”, change the style or the text and build it again. Nothing needs to be re-edited — the speech is already analyzed, so rebuilding is faster than the first time.
Where auto-editing gets it wrong and how to fix it
- A word is recognized wrong. Before building, open “Fix caption text”, or fix it in the editor afterwards.
- Too much was cut, or something extra was left in. You can turn off “Smart cut” and write a specific request in the “Notes for this video” field: “remove the first sentence”, “highlight the word free”.
- Don’t like the design. Change the style and build again — rebuilding a paid video is free.
How to film so auto-editing turns out better
- Shoot vertically with your face in the upper half of the frame: that leaves room for captions at the bottom.
- Speak into the phone mic or a lavalier, without background music — the auto-edit will add it.
- Don’t worry about slips and pauses — they’ll be cut. Started a sentence over? That’s fine too.
- One idea — one video. Up to three minutes, ideally 30–60 seconds.
Pricing
Auto-edit is paid in packs: 5 edits — $7.05; 10 edits — $13.03; 25 edits — $29.77; 50 edits — $53.69. One edit is one finished video from a clip up to 3 minutes. Your first video can be a trial — with a watermark. Reposts are separate, from $5.98 for 30 reposts; 2 reposts free to start. Packs never expire.
FAQ
Does auto-editing work online, without downloading any software?
Yes. VARIA works inside Telegram — on your phone, tablet and computer. Nothing to install.
Can I upload a long video?
Auto-edit takes videos up to 3 minutes. From a longer recording, the first 3 minutes will be edited.
What happens if I close the app during upload?
The upload will continue from the same point when you open the app again. The finished video will arrive in the chat either way.
How long is the finished video stored?
30 days — you can download it, tweak it and rebuild it. After that the video and the source file are deleted.
Can I add my own music and photos?
Yes. Add your own track and your own photos or videos in the “Assets” tab; photos appear where you talk about them.
